Just as bad weather hit the northern region the prior day, Manchester City overwhelmed Manchester United aside at the their home ground. It was a convincing 3-0 win for their manager's side owing to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a performance that clearly signaled their title credentials as they reinforced their place at the league summit.

Consecutive Losses for United

This result represented consecutive league defeats for the United manager's side for the initial occasion since last May, putting them seven points off the table toppers with their championship aspirations severely dented.

The Red Devils' capability to balance domestic and continental soccer with a thin roster has been a frequently analyzed topic since they qualified for the European competition.
