At Least 98 Palestinians Lost Their Lives in Custody Since October 2023, Official Figures Indicates
According to figures provided by Israel, at least 98 Palestinian individuals have perished during detention beginning in October 2023. Notable Incidents
Certain fatalities in custody have been widely reported, for instance a 50-year-old medical chief who lost his life in detention after 120 days in custody.
A detainee held with the victim testified that he was led to the courtyard by guards immediately preceding his demise, visibly injured and unclothed from the lower body. His corpse remains unreleased to Gaza.
Other prisoners who died in confinement by Israeli authorities stay unnamed. The prison service and military provided investigators with the number of casualties in detention, and limited additional information for example the facility where they died, but excluding the inmates’ personal details.
